Dr. Tracy Tinsley
About Me:
I am an experienced and compassionate veterinarian dedicated to the practice of equine dentistry. I have a passion for excellence, a deep seeded love for horses and a commitment to top quality care.
Growing up
I was introduced to horses at a young age visiting my grandmother’s farm. From here the seed was planted. Riding lessons led to leasing a horse, joining the United States Pony Club and eventually horse ownership and the desire to be an equine veterinarian. Pony Club, competing my Morgan horse in breed shows, dressage and combined training taught me valuable lessons in horsemanship and husbandry that serve me well to this day. My first horse Waltz is still with me and is retired at a farm in New Hill, NC.
Education
I received my B.S. in Equine Science from Colorado State University in 1999. From there I went on to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine where I received a B.S. in Veterinary Science in 2002 and my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2004. Following completion of veterinary school I completed an Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of Missouri in 2005. I am currently enrolled in a part time residency program with the American Veterinary Dental College.

Private Practice
I have practiced as an equine veterinarian since graduation from veterinary school in 2004. From 2005-2018 I was an equine primary care veterinarian first outside of Atlanta, GA and then here in North Carolina. During these years in private practice I enjoyed all aspects of equine medicine and surgery but the unique challenges and rewards of equine dentistry were where I found my passion. In 2018 I decided to leave primary care and open Elite Equine Mobile Dentistry in order to focus my practice exclusively on equine dental care.
